Hunt the Wumpus is an important early computer game (history). This was the first computer game I played in 1974. I played it on the University of Utah mainframe in the Merrill Engineering Building while enrolled in the class Kids, Turtles, and Computers. It has a fond place in my heart as I am still programming after all of these years. The two versions consist of Python with basic mixed in (line numbers and all), wumpus_BASIC.py, and one that is effectively the same as the original but is Pythonic, wumpus.py. |
